Real Welfare assessments compulsory from July

A bureau service will be launched on 1 July to help vets and farmers comply with Real Welfare assessments, which become compulsory from the start of next month.

The service will allow vets to capture the valuable data they collect on behalf of their client. The service is a stop-gap measure intended to run for six months while the development of an app is completed and it has been fully tested to ensure accurate and reliable data capture.

The data entry target is within three working days of receipt. Vets will then be able to log on to the web portal to review the results collected for discussion with their clients and benchmark figures will be made available.

As more data is submitted, these benchmarks will become more useful. Vets can use their current username and password to access this service, remembering it will take three days plus postal time, where applicable, before it is available. The web portal can still be used by vets to submit data if preferred.

The data can be sent to the bureau by:

  • Post: prepaid envelopes will be posted to all vets, the address for data sheets is RW Forms Bureau Service, MLCSL, Stoneleigh Park, Kenilworth, Warwickshire CV8 2TL

  • Email: rwforms@mlcsl.co.uk

  • Fax: 0247 669 2405

The technical helpline is 07583 517 930, to be used as a first port of call for technical issues with the portal; any queries on sampling and protocols should be emailed to rwtraining@bpex.ahdb.org.uk
