When the boss of one of the EU’s biggest dairies warned last week of a looming butter and cream shortage, the NFU dismissed the comments as “scaremongering”. Peder Tuborgh, chief executive of dairy farming co-operative Arla, whose brands include Anchor and Cravendale, says not enough milk is being supplied by farmers.
