A farmer was airlifted to hospital after being run over by his own tractor near Bolton.
Emergency services were called to Sunny Brow Farm, Wingates Lane, Westhoughton, on Sunday (20 March).
The accident happened on private land and it is understood that the tractor rolled over the man after he got out of the vehicle to feed some cattle.
Police, ambulance and fire services attended the scene.
Firefighters used air bags to lift the tractor off the trapped 65-year-old who was then taken by air ambulance to Wythenshawe Hospital with leg injures.
Being struck by a moving vehicle is among the most common causes of fatal injury to workers in the agriculture, forestry and fishing sectors.
However, it accounts for less than 5% of non-fatal specified injuries which are reported each year by agricultural employers.
