A Shropshire farmer who was trapped under a baler for more than six hours has died.

A neighbour raised the alarm after hearing his cries for help on a field at the farm on Saturday evening (26 September).

Fire crews cut the farmer free using specialist equipment after he trapped his legs in the baler and suffered serious crush injuries.
But as they were carrying out the rescue operation, Mr Smith, who was aged in his 60s, suffered a cardiac arrest.
Paramedics revived him at the scene and he was taken to hospital for further treatment, where he later died.
John Ellery, HM coroner for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, has been informed of Mr Smith’s death. An inquest is expected to be opened and adjourned shortly.
A spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said: “We are aware and are making initial enquiries alongside West Mercia Police.”
