Reflective strips aim to make farm kit safer on the road
As grey autumn turns to coal-black winter, taking badly lit farm kit on the road becomes a dangerous game. Fitting extra lights can be expensive, but the reflective strips marketed by Somerset firm Really Be Seen Reflective look like a relatively cheap way to make your kit conspicuous.
The strips are said to be 13 times brighter than normal reflective tape, reflecting light from up to 600m away. They are self-adhesive, impervious to water or frost and tolerant of regular pressure washing
The company already offers kits for silage, grain and stock trailers but has now added a £25 bale trailer kit that includes 14 amber strips (seven each side of the trailer) four red squares for the rear and six silver squares for the front. It also now sells a £25 21-piece cultivator/sprayer kit comprising six amber strips for the sides, 13 red squares for the rear and two silver strips for the extreme front sides.
