Cambrian estate offers extensive sporting potential

An unusual land sale in the Cambrian Mountains, Ceredigion includes upland pasture as well as shooting, fishing and mineral rights across more than 12,000 acres.

The Caron Estate is part of Trawsgoed Estates and is being sold to allow investment elsewhere in the area.

Joint agents Knight Frank and Morgan & Davies are looking for offers of more than £275,000 for 857 acres of upland pasture or sheepwalks alongside extensive shooting, fishing and mineral rights on the wider estate.

Some of the freehold land has option fee income of more than £2,000 a year from wind farm development companies. Included with the sporting rights area are about four miles of single bank fishing on the River Towy and two miles of fishing on the River Camddwr.

This is a very unusual opportunity for a private buyer or a syndicate to acquire an interest in a very large area of land and rights to develop an interesting and varied rough shoot, said James Prewett, head of regional farm sales at Knight Frank.
