Could pop up campsites be your next diversification?

Provided by

Pitchup.com was founded in 2009 to make it a doddle to book a campsite, caravan park or glamping site. We wanted to help not just with somewhere to stay, but with local bike info, walking routes, pubs (of course) and nearby events. Everything you need to book a terrific break.

We love what we do: we camp, we caravan, we travel. Our expert multinational team lead the way in inspiring ideas for holidays outdoors and have helped us become the market-leading online booking site for the sector - over 1m holidaymakers from 99 countries have taken a Pitchup.com holiday so far. With over 3,547 sites featured around the UK, Europe and the Americas, nifty searching and oodles of offers - it’s never been easier to find and book the perfect site - and rediscover the glee in camping and caravanning.

With an incredibly difficult year behind us and hope on the horizon, many farmers are looking to diversify their businesses as a way to help recoup lost revenue. But what options are available to you with limited time and resources?

Pitchup.com is a booking platform for over 2,000 UK campsites, including over 900 farms. Over the last year sales have skyrocketed, with one farm in Cumbria achieving £50,000 and 600 bookings in its first week online.

Farmers in England and Wales have been given the green light to accept tents under permitted development rights for 56 days per calendar year until the end of 2021 (with similar guidance elsewhere). Over 380 of these temporary sites are currently live on Pitchup.com, taking an average of £13,000 each.
