Dairy UK boss Jim Begg to retire

Dairy UK director general Jim Begg has announced his retirement after working 43 years in the dairy industry.
Mr Begg, who has been at the head of the organisation since its inception in 2004, said he will be retiring later in 2013.
“I feel this year is the right time for me to hand over the baton at Dairy UK to someone who will enjoy the job and relish the challenges it brings, as I have done over the years,” he said.
Dairy UK chairman Billy Keane paid tribute to Mr Begg, saying: “He has provided real leadership and has been the public face and a stabilising force through many difficult, turbulent periods.
“His experience will be sadly missed, particularly his extensive knowledge of international dairy developments.”
Details of Mr Begg’s successor will be announced in the near future.
