Farmers ‘cover up’ when it comes to having affairs

Farmers have been accused of covering up their identity in order to boost their appeal to members of the opposite sex.

An analysis of membership figures by extra-marital dating agency Illicit Encounters reveals that just 1.4% described themselves as a “farmer”.

“On the surface, it looks as though farmers are the professionals least likely to have an extra-marital affair,” said company spokeswoman Sara Hartley.

“From a membership of over 300,000 in Britain, a paltry 800 state their occupation as “farming”, putting farmers firmly at the bottom of the league table when it comes to cheating.”

But Ms Hartley says she was not convinced this represented the true picture. “Our membership is typically ‘middle England’ so it didn’t make sense to see so few farmers on the site.”

Closer examination of membership details revealed that many farmers used the heading “self-employed” believing it to sound more attractive.

And it seems they may have a point.

In an earlier survey, farmers were voted the least sexy professionals by members of Illicit Encounters. Even teachers did better, coming 8th, while nurses came top in the attractiveness stakes, capturing 18% of the vote.
