Large lettings on Lincolnshire’s Burghley Estate

Topping a trend for larger farm lettings, more than 810 acres of mainly Grade 3 land is available on a Farm Business Tenancy on the Burghley Estate near Stamford, Lincolnshire.

Manor Farm and Borderville Farm can be taken on as a whole or separately. Manor Farm, at Barnack, is 498 acres, while Borderville Farm comprises 312 acres and includes general-purpose storage buildings for machinery storage.

The land is available by informal tender, with a proposed start date in October 2014.

The Burghley Estate FBTs will include both single farm payment entitlements and income from the Entry Level Stewardship scheme. The farms have grown a traditional cereal rotation including winter wheat, oilseed rape, spring barley and spring linseed.
