RPA waits for thousands of SP5s

TENS OF thousands of single farm payment application forms are still outstanding with just six days left until the deadline.

The Rural Payments Agency says by the end of Monday (May 9) 45,000 single farm payment application forms had been returned.

But as the agency had sent out at least 120,000 application packs it looks like thousands more are yet to be sent back.

An agency spokeswoman urged farmers who have not yet returned their forms back to keep going with them.

The spokeswoman said she wanted to remind producers that RPA offices would be open every day until May 16 so farmers could hand-deliver their applications.

But she added that if producers were going to post them they should make sure they get proof of posting and have it noted on the receipt that the envelope contains an SP5 form.
