RPA wants any BPS ‘add parcel’ emails in by 6 May

Farmers in England have just one day left if they want to email the Rural Payments Agency to ask for a land parcel to be added back to their online Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) claim.

The agency announced at the start of April that farmers who find they have missing land parcels on their 2016 BPS application could ask for them to be added back to their online application by email.

The RPA said as long as farmers included all the information it needed in their message, it would aim to get back to them within three working days.

But the agency has now revealed that to make sure it can get back to people in enough time for them to make their application by 16 May, it needs the emails by 6 May.

Emails must be marked with the subject line “2016 add land” and sent to ruralpayments@defra.gsi.gov.uk.

Details of the information required is included in the RPA’s Hint and Tips document (PDF), which also advises that the alternative approach is to complete a paper continuation booklet.

An RPA spokesman confirmed: “6 May is the last day to email RPA to ask for land parcels to be added to online claims on the Rural Payments service to ensure that land is added by the 16 May deadline.”
