Rural Payments Agency has paid 21,940 farmers a full 2006 single farm payment

Close to 22,000 farmers had received a full 2006 single farm payment by Wednesday of this week (31 January), the Rural Payments Agency has revealed.
A spokesman said that in total £201m had been paid out and farmers would receive remittance advice shortly.
The agency intends to keep making full payments, where possible, for another couple of weeks but it will then turn its attention to partial payments.
Any farmer who has not received a full payment by mid-February will receive a partial payment which will be worth at least 50% of the value of the claim. The RPA estimates that the partial payment run will take three weeks to complete.
