Scots scheme runs smoothly
THE SINGLE farm payment application process in Scotland appears to be going smoothly, NFU Scotland has indicated.
A spokesman said: “Things here are going very well. Although we would like to see progress with the national reserve applications, we are still miles ahead compared with the RPA down south.”
Latest figures from the Scottish Executive showed that, by Wed (April 13), 2887 farmers had appealed against their SFP allocation and only 144 of those claims had yet to be processed.
And 4105 applications to the national reserve had been received, but only about 300 have been dealt with so far.
