JCB uses Kohler engine in new compact telescopics

JCB says it will have three not-seen-before models at this year’s Agritechnica show at Hannover, Germany. These include the TM180 and TM220 compact telescopics, as well as the Farm Master 413S Agri.

The main change is the move to a 65hp Kohler engine in the TM180 and 75hp unit on the TM220. Other changes include a redesigned chassis that allows towing up to 3.5t and a high-speed option on the TM180 that boosts top speed from 20kph to 35kph.

The TM180 can now lift 1,800kg to a height of 4.5m, while the TM220 lifts 2,200kg to the same height. A new joystick control with range-shift button and better instrument cluster have also been fitted.

The JCB Farm Master 413S Agri wheeled loader, meanwhile, gets a 145hp, 4.8 litre JCB Ecomax instead of the previous 4.4 litre unit. Hydraulic output is 23% higher, giving 156 litres/min, third and fourth spools can be controlled at the same time and a high-lift option that gives 6% more load-over height is standard.

A larger, quieter and more comfortable cab is fitted, says the company, and aircon is now an option.

Prices will be announced at the show.
