Chief scientist to open NSA Sheep 2012

The government’s chief scientist, Sir John Beddington, is set to open this year’s NSA Sheep Event.

The event will take place at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern today (Wednesday 4 July), focusing on the theme of sustainable intensification and what it means for sheep producers.

Organiser Helen Davies said: “More output with less impact is an issue the entire sector is on the cusp of getting to grips with and we are looking forward to the opportunity of hearing his thoughts on sustainability and how sheep can deliver.

“The event is offering the most comprehensive programmes of activities ever, each of which has been carefully designed to provide every member of the industry with opportunities to do business, as well as for business reflection and more informed decision making. Taking a day out to visit NSA Sheep 2012 will be time well invested for all farmers, their partners and their shepherds.”
