Korean firm Branson takes on UK market

Here’s a new name on the small-tractor scene. It’s Branson, a range of well-priced Korean-built tractors imported by Hampshire company Riko. It follows in the footsteps of Kioti and TYM – two Korean brands that have already had a stab at the UK market.

The biggest Branson currently available is the £17,000, 55hp 5820, although 65hp and 80hp versions will hopefully arrive on UK shores soon and are already on sale in the US and mainland Europe.

Powered by a four-cylinder diesel engine, all have four-wheel drive and power steering. The larger 45hp and 55hp tractors also get treated to a cab and tip the scales at just under 2t.

The tiddlers get a hydrostatic transmission, while those over 33hp have mechanical gears. The 5820, for example, has four gears in three ranges and a shuttle to flick between forward/reverse.
