Lamma 2021 cancelled due to coronavirus uncertainty

Organisers of the Lamma Show have cancelled the 2021 event due to uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.

The leading farm machinery show was due to take place on 25-26 May at the NEC, Birmingham, but will now return on 11-12 January 2022 at the same venue.

Event manager Kate Walsh said: “This decision has not been an easy one to make as we fully understand how key the show is to the entire industry and how keen we all were to make it happen in May.

“However, the safety of our visitors and exhibitors is of top priority, and after listening to and sharing the concerns of all our stakeholders and being fully appreciative of all the associated planning and work that goes into getting ready for a show like this, a decision had to be made.”

Last September organisers announced their intention to host the show in May 2021, but the emergence of new variants of the virus has meant the UK is still battling to stop a surge in cases.

Ms Walsh added: “I think we’ll all agree that Lamma 2022 will be an epic show, with the industry keen to do business and catch up with colleagues and friends in person. We would again like to thank all our exhibitors and visitors for the amazing support we’ve received throughout the year.

“We look forward to welcoming you to the show in 2022.”
