There were some 60 trailer makes at this year’s Lamma show, so no-one could complain about a lack of choice.

One new name from the ever-industrious Irish farm machinery manufacturing sector was this 22-24t Thorpe dump trailer. It is brought in by Somerset firm ProfiQuip and is aimed mainly at farmers who need to move stone or rubble around, however it can have extensions added to turn it into a grain trailer.

It’s made of Hardox 450 steel, so should be able to stand up to hard treatment, however the empty weight is a modest 5.5t. Cost of this model is £23,000.
