Philip Watkins launches trailed incorporator
British cultivation kit manufacturers seem to be going through something of a renaissance. One of the longer-established makers, Philip Watkins of South Yorkshire, launched a new trailed incorporator at the show.
Widths of the single-pass cultivator range from a 3m mounted version up to the biggest 9m folding (and include almost everything in between). All have two rows of rubber-suspended discs and sealed bearings to minimise the work with the grease gun. At the back is a row of guttler rollers and flotation/transport wheels. Roads lights and a handy toolbox are standard, too.
A 4.8m trailed version, which the company reckons will be the most popular, comes in at £24,000.
Also on the Watkins stand was a four-model range of grassland subsoilers. Discs lead auto-reset legs spaced 600mm apart, with a 450mm packer roll firming things up at the back. The smallest is a three-leg, 1.8m subsoiler and the largest is a 3.6m wide six-legger. A stocks seeder unit is on the options list.
The four-leg, 2.4m-wide version will set you back £9,000.
