Test drive latest 4×4 off-roaders at the Livestock Event

Are you looking to replace your trusty 4×4 or invest in the latest UTV, but are unsure how they will perform out in the field or on rutted tracks and gateways?

Why not try them out for yourself at next month’s Livestock Event at the NEC, Birmingham, where you can put some of the most popular workhorse 4x4s through their paces on the venue’s dedicated off-road test tracks. It includes rough terrain and obstacles including bomb holes, humps, hills, articulation mounds and wet areas.

Nick Everington, chief executive of event organiser RABDF, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this new feature on the NEC’s little known off-road test track. Test driving will enable all farmers considering a new investment to make a more informed decision before they purchase, while 4×4 enthusiasts will also have the benefits of Land Rover’s trained instructor.”

A 2 km woodland track will be used for test driving Isuzu’s D-Max Utah automatic, as well as the D-Max Utah manual with anti-stall technology, while Land Rover will be offering test drives in either a Defender, Discovery or Range Rover, as well as expert instruction in how to negotiate the off-road course from a Land Rover-trained instructor.

The UTVs will use a separate 1km track where visitors will be able to test drive the John Deere diesel-powered Gator XUV855D and XUV550 petrol models, JCB’s Workmax 800D and Workmax 1000D models and Polaris’ Ranger 400 petrol and Ranger 900 diesel models.
