Vaderstad updates Seed Hawk drill
Vaderstad’s no-till drill – the Seed Hawk – has been updated. The major change has seen wheels added on the wing sections to improve the ground-following characteristics of the drill. It also has dolly-style wheels on the front, rather than being lower-link mounted, which should allow for easier headland turning. The Canadian-built drill gets new hydraulics and an updated control box, too.
The pressure of the three rows of coulters can be adjusted up to 150kg and rows are spaced at 25cm. This should mean it works well even in relatively heavy trash conditions. The drill can also be reset to 75cm row spacings for maize drilling -plates are used to block the seed hoses that are not being used.
Top drilling speed is about 10kph and 25hp/metre should be adequate to pull the Seed Hawk -150hp will be enough for the 6m version.
