Britain’s Fittest Farmer 2025: The qualifier leaderboard

Farmers from across the UK have ditched their boots and laced up their trainers to compete in this year’s Britain’s Fittest Farmer competition. With all three qualifiers complete, the leaderboard is heating up.
The 2025 competition kicked off with high energy and even higher temperatures at the Lincolnshire Show on 18 June, followed by another scorcher of a day at the Great Yorkshire Show on 8 July.

The trio of qualifiers will finish on this week with an action-packed event at the Royal Welsh Show.
The event is all about building resilience, both physically and mentally.
Cheered on by enthusiastic crowds of friends and family, competitors tested their strength and stamina with gruelling events such as tractor tyre flipping, 4×4 pulling and heavy sandbag lifts.
One participant in the Women Under-40s category was Sarah Tween, who comes from a family farm in Suffolk.
Reflecting on her experience, Sarah said: “I’m so glad I did it, it really pushed me out of my comfort zone.
“There’s so much strength in this competition. Since focusing on fitness, I’ve seen a big boost in my mental health too.”
The judging
Returning to lead the judging panel is last year’s champion William Arden, who, along with his team, is putting competitors through a variety of tough fitness tests in a fun, friendly atmosphere.
The competition also shines a light on mental health in the farming community, with the Farming Community Network (FCN) as the official charity partner judge.
In the penultimate stages of the competition, the judges will assess the finalists’ mental health awareness before the finals in the autumn.
FCN offers vital support through a confidential helpline and its FarmWell resources, helping farmers and their families navigate life’s pressures.
Rachel Davey, FCN’s marketing and events officer, said: “Events like this are exactly what we need to highlight the connection between physical and mental wellbeing. It’s what FCN is all about.”
With the final qualifier to be held at the Royal Welsh Show on 24 July, excitement is building as the full list of finalists is set to be announced soon.
