Your Christmas country story could win you cash
Christmas is a magical time on a farm, so tell us what this most special of days means to you and you could win £100 in our latest writing competition.
We’re keen to read pieces of between 500 and 750 words called “My Christmas Day”, summing up why 25 December in the countryside is unlike anywhere else.
You can interpret the theme however you like. You might choose to tell us what the day will have in store for you this year, or share a memory from childhood or from when your own kids were small.

Perhaps you’ll choose to recount one particular incident or tell us about a special meal, what your routine is typically like, or one occasion when the weather was truly unforgettable.
Your piece can be heartwarming or funny or sad – we just want a sense of your seasonal experience and a glimpse of why 25 December is such a special day on farms around the country.
We appreciate it’s still only November so a little early to be thinking about Christmas, but we’re planning to publish the pieces we like best in Farmers Weekly in the run-up to the festive season, so we need to receive them in plenty of time.
Email your entries to fwfarmlife@rbi.co.uk by 25 November.
