Farmers push spud sales with potato nativity

We are loving these pictures of a nativity scene with a difference, made from Maris Piper and Marfona potatoes.

The spuds were grown by Craig and Sally Williamson from Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.

Craig and Sally farm potatoes, carrots, fodder beet, wheat, barley and oilseed rape with their two children, and Sally made this display for their farm shop.

The potato nativity

Sally told Farmers Weekly: “I was trying to promote sales in our farm shop and, as I see every potato that we bag, it was a way of amusing myself. The whole family think I’m nuts.”
