Farming TV show set to air

A new TV series about farming kicks off this week, potentially attracting a new urban audience to agricultural issues.
The first episode of Mud Sweat and Tractors the Story of Agriculture airs on Wednesday (15 April) on BBC Four.
The four-part series promises to chart Britain’s 20th century food production revolution, examining its impact on farmers and consumers.
The first episode, focusing on milk, features dairy farmer Nick Gosling and includes home movie footage of farm life from the 1950s through to the end of the century shot by his mother.
Later episodes of the show, narrated by Charles Collingwood – who plays Brian Aldridge in The Archers – will look at, wheat, beef and horticulture.
