Photo of the Week: Minty the ewe and friends enjoy their hay

This heartwarming (if not hand-warming) scene of Minty chowing down her hay was taken by Wendy Pink.

Wendy took the photo on her smallholding near Maenclochog, Pembrokeshire, during the Pembrokeshire Dangler snow storm.

Wendy says: “It’s my first ever ewe… she started my small flock of Welsh mountain sheep on my farm on the Preselis about six years ago.

“Her daughters are now my breeding ewes and she is retired with my other older girls.”

Wendy started the smallholding after retiring from a career in London working with the Metropolitan Police.

Since moving, she’s worked with a local sheep and beef farmer to gain experience with farm animals, then as a TB testing clerk with a local veterinary practice.

We think this sounds like a wonderful life move, and we’re sure Minty agrees.
