Four men convicted of farm killing

Four men have been found guilty of crushing a businessman to death after he confronted them during a burglary on his East Sussex farm.
Julian Gardner, who ran a repair business for agricultural machinery, was killed at Bush Barn Farm, near Robertsbridge, in October 2010.
Mr Gardner, 52, was crushed between two vehicles, or one vehicle and a water bowser, Lewes Crown Court heard.
He was attacked after confronting the burglars during a midnight raid, and was later found lying dead on the ground by his business partner.
Four men were found guilty of manslaughter on Tuesday (10 April) at Lewes Crown Court. Jurors had been considering the verdicts since 2 April, following a break for Easter.
Following almost 22 hours of deliberation, a jury at Lewes Crown Court found Terrence Bristow, 41, of Chart Road, Great Chart, near Ashford, Kent; Marcus Bristow, 32, of Mock Lane, Great Chart; Lee Delay, 23, of Whitegate Close, Tunbridge Wells; and Paul Dunn, 33, of Fryth Crescent, Cranbrook, all guilty of manslaughter by majority verdicts.
Oliver Payne, of Sandhurst Road, Tunbridge Wells, was found not guilty of manslaughter, and the jury was discharged after failing to reach a verdict on Christopher Leek, 30, of Pear Tree Close, Cranbrook.
All six men were convicted of conspiracy to commit burglary and, along with Terrence Dunn, 57, of Tanyards Estate, Sandhurst, Kent, of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Judge Anthony Scott-Gall remanded the men in custody to be sentenced on Wednesday (11 April).
