Kelpies and Collies to star at Sheep Event

Ever wondered just how much dogs can help increase flock efficiency? Then find out at the NSA Sheep Event at Malvern this year.

A new working demonstration of Kelpies, the Australian-bred dogs noted for their natural ability for backing sheep, will be on display, with the demonstration providing visitors with additional ideas on how dogs can help increase a flock’s management efficiency, says event organiser Helen Davies.

The event will also host the 13th biennial sale of working sheep dogs with more than 40 Border Collies entries expected from novice to trial dogs. Prospective buyers will be able to observe each entry working away from the farm environment, says Clee, Tompkinson and Francis auctioneer Garth Griffiths.
