NFU picks up Gold Medal at Chelsea Flower Show

The NFU has marked its centenary year by scooping its twelfth consecutive gold medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
This year’s display ‘NFU: Growing for Another Century’ showcases the very best of British fruit, vegetables, plants and flowers which can all be bought in local supermarkets, markets or stores across the UK.
Display designer Penny Riley said: “We’re very pleased to have been able to mark the NFU’s centenary year by winning our 12th consecutive gold medal. This display was a special one to mark the centenary and it has proved to be very popular with visitors to the show as well as the judges.”
Richard Hirst, chairman of the NFU horticulture board, said: “The Chelsea Flower Show provides a great opportunity to showcase the very best of British produce to the world. Everything on the display is grown in this country and it acts as a spectacular reminder to people to buy British as well as highlighting why horticulture matters to the nation.”
