Reverend gets SP5 form
ROBERT BARLOW, the Church of England‘s diocesan chaplain for agriculture and rural life, feels he can now empathise with the toil faced by farmers when it comes to filling out forms.
In a letter to The Times Reverend Barlow explained how he inexplicably received a letter from the RPA asking him to provide details of how many hectares he owned and what he grew on them.
“It came with a lengthy booklet of explanation,” said the Reverend.
“While the booklet had many answers, it could not explain, why, as a minister of religion, I had been sent the form.”
After calling the RPA, who could not explain why he had been sent the letter, he decided it was best to ignore it.
“I decided to ignore the form but to be grateful for receiving it as it meant I could empathise with farmers and the forms they have to fill in.”
He has since received a second letter from the RPA with the same form.
“I‘m sure this will help me to empathise all the more,” said Reverend Barlow.
