Stunning location with 360-degree views

Strutt & Parker is selling a large Hertfordshire arable farm on behalf of a major charity.

Hillend Farm at Sandridge, near St Albans, didn’t fit in with the charity’s investment strategy, said the firm’s Mark McAndrew, and it made sense to sell after the departure of two residential tenants.

Even though the farm runs to 861 acres, Mr McAndrew said its house’s stunning location with 360-degree views was likely to draw in residential buyers.

“It’s reminiscent of the Berkshire Downs and feels bizarrely remote considering it is in the heart of Hertfordshire.

“The house needs complete refurbishment or, if somebody loves the view enough, possible demolition and rebuilding,” he said.

The overall guide is 3.6m, with the house and 646 acres priced at 3m.
