Veteran Norfolk farmer celebrates 77th harvest, aged 82

An 82-year-old Norfolk farmer has just completed his 77th harvest, continuing a lifelong dedication to British agriculture on his family-run Heath Farm near Dereham.
Peter Taylor began working on the farm at just five years old as a so-called “Hold GG boy” and now works daily alongside his sons Mark and Michael.

The farm, which covers just over 100ha of arable land and includes pig farming, remains a fully family-run operation.
According to Michael’s partner Lisa Collins, Peter and his sons are a “true example of everything good in family farming”.
“Every year Peter says ‘this will be my last harvest’, but he keeps going – a true gent who would do anything for anyone,” says Lisa.
“He is a perfect example of what true British family farming is all about.”
