Women in Agriculture network to launch in November

A new UK-wide Women in Agriculture Network will launch in November 2025 to support, celebrate and connect women across the farming sector through events, mentoring and community-building.

The Women in Agriculture Network aims to create a space for women to develop leadership and business skills, and support one another through shared experiences.

It will open with a webinar titled Leadership & Representation, featuring award-winning farmers and industry leaders in policy and agri-business. (Date to be confirmed.)

The network’s mission includes promoting mentorship, increasing visibility of women’s contributions to agriculture, and addressing sector-specific challenges.

An online community will also be launched on the platform Staypost, enabling members to continue discussions and collaborations year-round.

Foundation

The Women in Agriculture awards scheme, first launched in 2023, served as the foundation for the new network by recognising the achievements of women in farming and highlighting the need for continued support.

Chloe Ryan, food and farming journalist and chair of the judging panel, said: “When we set up the awards in 2023, we always planned to develop a network, so I am excited to be launching a scheme specifically designed to support and celebrate the work women in agriculture do.”

She added: “The Women in Agriculture network is about building a community where women can share knowledge, inspire one another, and shape the future of farming and food.”

Women in Agriculture Awards

The third National Women in Agriculture Awards will open for nominations in November, alongside a wider programme of events covering sustainability, innovation, education and rural business. More information is coming soon.
