Devon turkey farm for sale

A productive Devon unit has just gone on the market with 3252sq m (35,000sq ft) of rearing space used for all-year-round turkey production.

The unit, located in the hamlet of Compton, includes a farmhouse with annex, farm buildings and about 27ha (66.8 acres) of productive farmland. And it is on the market with a guide price of ÂŁ1.1m.

Handling the sale is George Alder of Savills Farm Agency Department, who added: “Compton Holt is a good example of a farm which you can use part to make a living.

“The present the owner uses the farm buildings to rear a high number of quality turkeys which he sells direct to butchers, wholesalers and hotels throughout the south west, while the arable land used to grow a variety cereal and vegetable crops.”

Mr Alder said that it offers a great opportunity to a new entrant or farming family with the enthusiasm to produce a product to sell direct to public.
