Productive Scots block
Savills’ Edinburgh office is selling a block of 340 acres of productive farmland at Stenton Newmains, near Garvald, East Lothian.
The land comes with 8500sq ft of modern farm buildings and stock-handling facilities with the potential for a dwelling house to be built nearby. Savills is seeking offers of more than £1m.
Kelling Estate sells
The Kelling Estate, which was launched by Strutt & Parker in early September, is understood to have been sold to a single buyer.
The 1600-acre estate, which lies between Holt and the sea in north Norfolk, was created for oil tycoon Henri Deterding, founder of the Royal Dutch Petroleum Company, the forerunner of today’s petrochemical giant Shell. Contracts are believed to have been exchanged on the estate (pictured), which was guided at £25m.
Small parcels success
North-west auctioneer Denton Clark reported a successful October sale of small parcels of agricultural land and equestrian property near Chester.
A 3.5-acre plot with stabling in Bebington, Wirral, realised £120,000. Denton Clark said the firm had seen agricultural land values in north-west England grow by 33% in the past year.
