Two hundred acres of land for sale in Herefordshire

Hereford firm Brightwells is kicking off 2008 with the sale of a rare 204-acre block of arable and pastureland.

The firm’s Gaye Wiggins said there was plenty of demand for parcels of land between 100 and 200 acres in the county, but they were rarely available without a house. “There will be a lot of interest from neighbours looking to expand what they’ve got.”

Lower Court Farm at Ullingswick, near Hereford, is being sold by landowner Lower Hope Farms and Lower Hope Livestock and Fruit.

Included in the £1.2m guide price is a six-bay livestock building and other modern buildings, but Miss Wiggins said they were probably incidental to the sale. “I think the land itself will be the main attraction.”

Land prices were incredibly firm in Herefordshire, she added. “Land is going for anywhere up to £8000-£9000/acre and probably averaging £6000-£7000/acre.”

Miss Wiggins said Brightwells was planning to launch a 270-acre arable unit north of Hereford in the next few weeks.
