Warwickshire farm for sale could have rela development potential

Proximity to a major rail hub is expected to give a 237-acre Warwickshire farm an extra boost when it comes to the market next week.
Nortoft Farm, one of several being offered by Howkins & Harrison in the region, is a traditional residential pasture farm. The vendors are members of a family with long farming connections at Kilsby, near Rugby, well known for their Charolais beef herd. “My father farmed it until he died four years ago,” said Jeff Thomas. “My mother and I are both looking for a fresh start.”
Mr Thomas came back to the farm after six years in the armed forces and is due to be married. His brother has already sold an adjacent holding and emigrated to Australia.
Noftoft includes a modern farmhouse, good range of steel and concrete-framed livestock buildings and traditional farm buildings with potential for alternative uses. Its location next to Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal is expected to appeal to investors with an eye for long-term development potential.
It all adds up to useful communication links for both continued agricultural use and potential commercial use, says Jeff Paybody of Howkins & Harrison, who is likely to be looking for about £2.4m.
