Meaty topics at free open meeting in Bakewell

Beef and sheep farmers in the Derbyshire Peak District can find out more about hot topics in the red meat industry at a free open meeting in Bakewell next week.

Taking place at Bakewell Market on Tuesday 2 February, the event will feature three interactive sessions to update producers on the work done by EBLEX. The subjects covered will include the latest news on the export markets, using innovative meat cuts to maximise carcass value, and a roundup of the latest EBLEX marketing activity. The meeting will also take a look at challenges faced by the red meat sector such as climate change, water usage and feed efficiency.

The open meeting will be a great opportunity for beef and sheep producers to learn about the work of EBLEX according to EBLEX’s Clive Brown. “The open meeting is a great opportunity for beef and sheep farmers to meet the EBLEX team and learn more about the work we’re doing to help them get better returns. We look forward to meeting as many producers as possible and hearing their views.”

The event will begin at 5.45pm when hot beef rolls, tea and coffee will be served, and will finish at approximately 9pm. To book a free place call Selma Todd on 0870 608 6610 or email selma.todd@eblex.org.uk. For more information visit www.eblex.org.uk
