Pig producers to get 10p reduction in levy

The pig sector will see a 10p reduction in the producer levy from 1 April, but levy rates will remain unchanged for most other sectors for 2008/09.
Junior DEFRA minister Lord Rooker announced on Wednesday (19 March) that he and ministers in the devolved administrations had approved levy rates proposed by the newly established Agriculture and Horticulture Levy Board.
