West Sussex firm ADF Milking won this year’s RABDF Livestock Machinery and Equipment Award for its automated teat dipping and flushing system.

This automatically applies a coating of teat dip after milking as well as rinsing and disinfecting the teat cups between milkings.

The result for farmers who have invested in the system has been a reduction in mastitis and a useful cut in the overall times it takes to do the milking. Accepting the award was company director James Duke (pictured centre).
