Disinfectant gains BEIC approval
Interkosask, a powerful, broad-spectrum disinfectant, has received approval from the British Egg Industry Council (BEIC) for use by its members who produce eggs under the Lion Code.
This is the first phenol-based product to receive such approval and follows extensive independent testing at a UK food research establishment.
The findings confirmed the on-farm experience within the German layer industry, where the product has been in continuous use for over four years.
The DEFRA approved product is effective against a wide range of poultry parasites and disease-carrying organisms including red mite, salmonella, worms and coccidia.
