EuroTier 2010: SowCam via your iPhone

Filming and counting piglets during farrowing while analysing time between each birth to detect any problems is the concept of the new SowCam system from Big Dutchman.

Featured is a standard webcam mounted above each farrowing pen with wireless connection to software for intelligent analysis of the resultant film – that’s a picture from the system on the left.

Warnings when things go wrong can be linked to mobile phones. Farrowing can be followed online or via i-Phone.
