List of approved slaughter houses to receive animals from the Bluetongue Zone

DEFRA have published a list of approved slaughter houses. As of yesterday (15 Oct), slaughterhouses outside the Bluetongue Zones were able to apply to the Meat Hygiene Service to be approved to take susceptible animals for slaughter from within the Control and Protection Zones, provided they can fulfil specified criteria. 

A list of these approved slaughter houses are below along with their location.

Producers are asked to be aware that movements of susceptible animals to approved slaughterhouses will also be subject to certain conditions, to minimise the risk of disease spread.
