Improved profit results for UBP

PIG BREEDING company UBP, which trades in the UK as Premier Genetics, has announced improved results for the year ending Sept 30, 2004.

The figures represented the best trading performance since the firm‘s management buy-out four years ago, said managing director Ian Torrie.

“This year has seen an all-round improvement in demand for our stock and AI as we gained new business in this country and abroad,” he said.

Strong demand for the company‘s Alba and Midas terminal sires drove breeding stock sales up 20% and its Norfolk-based AI centre had shown good performance, he added.
