New online sales platform for beef and dairy semen and embryos

A new online genetics platform will allow beef and dairy farmers to purchase semen and embryos from numerous companies.

The site, part of the online livestock marketplace SellMyLivestock, will allow farmers and genetic companies to make listings, and a search functionality allows users to order and filter listings.

The platform currently has more than 100 dairy bulls listed and stock from World Wide Sires Direct, Mastergen, Viking Genetics, Bovi-Gen, Gene Source UK and Cattle Genie available.

This allows farmers to easily make comparisons between different options from numerous companies.

Users can filter by:

• Type (beef or dairy)
• Bull name
• Genetics supplier
• Profitable lifetime index (PLI)
• Index scores such as milk production, fat percentage, lifespan and calving ease
