NFSCO offers a 50% discount
THE NATIONAL Fallen Stock Company has increased the discount offered to farmers who use the National Fallen Stock Scheme.
The discount on the cost of collection and disposal of fallen stock has been increased from 30% to 50%.
This means a farmer who outside the scheme is charged ÂŁ60 for collection of an adult bovine under 24 months and was previously paying ÂŁ42 under the scheme will now pay ÂŁ30.
Michael Seals, NFSco chairman, said the board of the company had decided it could prudently increase the discount and still stay within the ÂŁ10m government budget.
The new rate will be backdated to 1 April and will apply until further notice.
