BVPA bids to host the WVA Conference

The BVPA (British Veterinary Poultry Association) is putting in a bid to host the World Veterinary Association Conference in Edinburgh.

Members of the association voted in favour of the bid at their annual spring conference in Harrogate.

“It is a very interesting and exciting prospect,” said BVPA president Alan Pearson.

He said the association would now be working with the Edinburgh conference facilitators to formulate and submit a bid ahead of the 2013 WVAC in Nantes next summer, where bids will be assessed and a decision will be made.

The UK last hosted the conference in 1989 in Bournemouth.
