Management shakeup at Noble Foods

Noble Foods chief executive Peter Thornton is stepping down from the post, to be replaced by ABP Food Group’s Andrew Cracknell, the firm has announced.
In a statement released on the Noble Foods website, part-owner Michael Kent said: “Having played a key role in helping to transform the fortunes of the business since he joined, Peter has decided to change career direction by working in more of a non-executive capacity in the future, which will also allow him to spend more time with his family.
“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Peter Thornton for all the brilliant hard work he has done for Noble.”
Mr Kent added that, as well as becoming a non-executive director at Noble, Mr Thornton will also become chairman of Gü and Noble Foods Inc, the firm’s US business.
He will be replaced by Andrew Cracknell, commercial and board director for ABP Food Group, who is set to start on 14 January next year.
Mr Cracknell has spent the past 20 years working “in various senior roles at ABP Food Group”. For the past four years he has been responsible for all of ABP Food Group UK’s fresh and frozen beef across the retail sector.
