Consumption of poultry down The level of consumption, measured as supplies reaching the market, fell back by 63,000 tonnes, or 3%, to 2.01 mt. Although output had risen 13,600 tonnes, imports dropped by 24,000t while exports rose by 53,000t, compared with 2016, according to Defra. In the final quarter, supplies were down 6% and domestic output was down 5% year-on-year.
